Germany says climate meeting ‘broke the ice’

KOENIGSWINTER, Germany – Some 40 nations agreed Tuesday on taking individual steps to fight global warming, but made little progress during a three-day meeting near Bonn toward drafting a new international climate change treaty.
Of course, by “taking steps” they mean using coercive force to bring about their vision of “environmental balance.” Without government force, surely there is nothing individuals can do on their own to increase efficiency, decrease waste, and become more sustainable! That’s got to be the most discouraging stuff that comes from these blockheads trying to mold the world to their eyes. They paint the picture that without government angels ordering society, everything would go to ruin. Never mind that throughout history the most devastating damage has been caused by those angels in power.
Germany praised the so-called Petersberg Dialogue, however, for moving global talks forward toward limiting the greenhouse gas emissions blamed for causing the Earth’s average temperatures to rise.
And yet the world is cooling and the ice is returning in the Arctic. Some small details that these environmental geniuses should probably know, right? Arctic cap is growing
U.N. climate chief Yvo de Boer also said the meeting had shown “a very strong desire of ministers to reinvigorate the process,” and urged ministers to stay involved instead of leaving negotiations to the experts.
These politicians surely know the best courses for the individuals of the world. Why not give them some more power over our lives? Without them we have no clue how to take care of the environment.
Germany co-hosted the meeting with Mexico, which will hold the next major U.N. climate summit in Cancun at the end of the year. Before then, nations must still resolve tough issues over how greenhouse gas emissions should be lowered, and how financial aid to poor nations should be managed and spent.
Ah, so wealth in poor nations is good for environmental stewardship? These guys acknowledge the simple fact that people and countries with more wealth can put more care into nature, yet they go down the moronic route thinking that foreign aid creates wealth. Foreign aid has a history of destroying local economies in foreign countries, depleting people of the few jobs they could have, and it all comes from funds forcefully taken out of individuals of other countries. Why not create wealth the old fashioned, honest way through property rights, individual motive, and increased free trade and markets? Property rights lead to conservation, government control leads to waste and overconsumption.
