Germany ‘won’t give one cent to Greece’: minister

http://www.breitbart.com/artic….._article=1

The German government will “not give one cent” to help Greece out of its debt crisis, Economy Minister Rainer Bruederle said on Friday as the two countries’ leaders prepared to meet in Berlin.

Greek Prime Minister George “Papandreou said that he didn’t want one cent — in any case the German government will not give one cent,” Bruederle said on the sidelines of a meeting with European Union industry commissioner Antonio Tajani.

We are not asking for money,” Papandreou said.

“We need support from the European Union and our partners to obtain credit on the markets at better conditions. If we do not receive this aid, we will not be able to enact the changes we foresee.”

Greece successfully raised an urgently needed 5.0 billion euros (6.8 billion dollars) with a bond issue on Thursday, but had to pay an interest rate significantly above 6.0 percent, or about twice the rate at which Germany can borrow.

Once again, I say, this is coming to America.  There is only so much money in the world.  As countries spend more than they take in they need to borrow from countries that have a surplus.  USA must compete with other countries for additional money to keep up with our spending.  As more and more countries compete for additonal monies, the interest rates will likely increase.  It is simply the law of “Supply and Demand”.

I’m interested in seeing what happens in Greece if Germany (or any other country) decides NOT to give them the money they want.  This could give us an indication of what will happen in America if Japan or China decide to stop loaning us the money.

Scott Brown campaigns for McCain in Arizona

This shows you how much change Scott Brown truly believes in. He is serving the GOP leadership and has no intention of changing how Washington works. The incredible thing is that in the process he’s delegitimatized the Tea Party movement in the space of a couple months.

PHOENIX – Facing the toughest re-election battle of his career, John McCain is bringing in the Republican Party’s newest rising star in a bid to shore up support among conservative primary voters.

Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown is making his first campaign trip as senator. His visit to Arizona Friday will be a first test of his popularity among Republican activists after he broke with the GOP leadership to side with Democrats in supporting a jobs bill.

Brown won his seat in January with the help national Republicans, “tea party” groups and an array of conservative special interests. Some of those supporters turned against Brown after his Feb. 22 vote on the jobs bill, calling him “Benedict Brown” and lambasting him online.

As a nationally popular Republican representing a left-leaning state, Brown walks a fine line between pleasing his base and positioning himself for re-election.

It’s a challenge McCain knows well. Some Arizona conservatives have long been skeptical of the Arizona senator over his own work with Democrats in support of issues including campaign-finance and immigration reform.

Fascist Franklin

Very interesting material. Social Security is one of the greatest manipulative schemes set in place by the federal government in the past century.

Take a look at this URL. There you will see an engraving. It is not an engraving of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, or any of the Founding Fathers. Instead it is an engraving of Otto von Bismarck, who served as chancellor of Germany from 1862 to 1890.

You may have noticed that the URL has the letters “ssa.gov” in it. That is the Internet domain name for the U.S. Social Security Administration.

You might then ask, What in the world is the U.S. government doing glorifying a chancellor of Germany rather than America’s Founding Fathers?

The answer is provided on the SSA’s website itself: Bismarck was the world’s first political ruler to adopt a social security program. On that web page, the SSA states, “Despite his impeccable right-wing credentials, Bismarck would be called a socialist for introducing these programs, as would President Roosevelt 70 years later. In his own speech to the Reichstag during the 1881 debates, Bismarck would reply: ‘Call it socialism or whatever you like. It is the same to me.’”

In mocking that claim of socialism, however, what the SSA doesn’t tell you is where Bismarck got the idea of social security and, for that matter, the whole idea of a paternalistic welfare state. He got the idea from German socialist intellectuals, who saw social security as an ideal way to use the state to implement the Marxian principle “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.”

As the years went on, the German people became accustomed to having the government care for them, with their own money of course. Thus, by the time that Hitler became chancellor of Germany, the paternalistic welfare state had become a permanent feature of German life. Given Hitler’s devotion to National Socialism (abbreviated by the term “Nazi”), it was hardly surprising that he embraced such socialist programs as social security, national health care, and public (i.e., government) schooling.

In fact, Hitler embraced not only socialism but also fascism, an economic philosophy that leaves property in private hands but subjects it to government control and regulation. Another feature of Hitler’s fascism was partnerships between government and private industry, whose aims were to further the interests of the nation.
