30 Years of Global Cooling Are Coming, Leading Scientist Says

Oranges are freezing and millions of tropical fish are dying in Florida, and it could be just the beginning of a decades-long deep freeze, says Professor Mojib Latif, one of the world’s leading climate modelers.
Latif thinks the cold snap Americans have been suffering through is only the beginning. He says we’re in for 30 years of cooler temperatures — a mini ice age, he calls it, basing his theory on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the world’s oceans.

The U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSICD) agrees that the cold temperatures are unusual, and that the world’s oceans may play a part in temperatures on land.
“Has ocean variability contributed to variations in surface temperature? Absolutely, no one’s denying that,” said Mark Serreze, senior research scientist with NSIDC. But the Center disagrees with Latif’s conclusions, instead arguing that the cold snap is still another sign of global warming.
“We are indeed starting to see the effects of the rise in greenhouse gases,” he said.
First of all, these scientist don’t have a clue. If they can’t predict the weather over the course of a few days how can they predict the weather for the next 30 years? Secondly, and these are the biggest idiots, how can you argue that COLD WEATHER INDICATES GLOBAL WARMING??? Global alarmists (Al Goreians) are sticking to their story no matter what the weather does. Hot or cold, it doesn’t matter…. it’s global warming and we need to do something IMMEDIATELY or the world is doomed!!!!! Don’t look at the sun which supplies 98%(?) of the worlds warmth. No, instead look at a natural gas and call it poison, a gas that is only .000385 [Only 385 parts per million by volume... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_.....in_the_air] of the atmosphere.
Sheesh, give me a break!
If anyone were to study the sun and solar activity it would be easy to see a direct correlation between the heating and cooling of the earth. The sun is our primary source of heat. Wouldn’t it be logical to look at the sun FIRST, instead of a NATURAL trace gas (i.e. carbon dioxide)?Man does put carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, a natural gas that helps trees and plants grow. However, if man-made carbon dioxide were the problem, how do scientists explain the temperature when the dinosaurs roamed the earth? Wasn’t it a lot hotter back then and man wasn’t even around. If man is the cause of the temperature rising, how do you explain the temperature back then? Over the history of the earth we’ve had 5 major ice ages with warming periods between them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age Wouldn’t this seem to indicate a natural freezing/thawing of the earth? Furthermore, during the history of man, hot periods frequently caused a “golden era”, an era of expansion (e.g. the Renaissance period). A warmer period allows for crops to grow longer and at higher elevations. Isn’t this good?
Actually the temperature has been going down over the last several years. There was a period of about 10 years that it went up, but now it’s going down and scientists are trying to hide these facts. (Sorry, I don’t have time to look all this up and even if I did many people wouldn’t believe the data).
The people who are trying to convince you to continue with business as usual do not want you to be free, they want you to keep buying their consumer output. They want you to keep buying oil and gas. They have an interest to the shareholders to make sure you keep buying stuff.
Companies are in business to make a profit and to keep their shareholders happy (and many shareholders are common Americans). However I don’t believe you’re taking into account that need for profit. If I were CEO of an oil company not only would I be spending money on drilling, I would also be spending money on alternative sources of fuel. Why would I do this… to make even more money! That’s why I’m in business. I don’t care where the money comes from, oil or some other place. You may say that’s just greed and greed is bad. I agree, greed is bad, but making a profit is not necessarily greed. If we didn’t have oil companies how many people would be unemployed, how would products be delivered, how would people get to work? Why would a person start a company unless they had a motive to make a profit? Profit is good, greed is bad. Are the oil companies screwing people, or is there a demand for their product? No one forces anyone to buy gas. If you think gas and oil are bad things… don’t drive. It’s pretty simple.
Here’s my opinion for what it’s worth. There is no man made global warming. We are seeing a natural cycle of warming and cooling that has been going on since the begining of the earth. There is nothing wrong with using gas or oil, a commodity that will last for another hundred (two hundred?) or so years. I agree that we need to be seeking alternative sources of energy for the future, but cutting our supply now is simply stupid. New forms of energy will emerge in the future as we need them.
If the governments of the world really wanted to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, why not just plant more trees? Trees remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. No one in government ever mentions this because there is no money in it. Cap and Trade is merely a way to redistribute wealth, primarily from the USA to other countries. If there is any greed and corruption, it’s here in Cap and Trade.
IMHO it all boils down to this… Who do you trust? Do you trust the UN and the governments of the world or not? Personally I don’t like them or trust them. Anything and everything they say is most likely a lie and subject to suspicision.
I don’t believe the scientists because they are all getting government grants. How would it benefit them if they said, “there is no global warming”? There goes their grant money. Doesn’t it bother you about this “Climate-gate” stuff? Emails where all the data is fraudulent and prominent scientists are trying to blackmail/smear their peers? Doesn’t that make you wonder? Most of the things Al Gore is saying are total lies. Why would anyone listen to him?
I’m all for conserving energy and recycling. I’m not saying we shouldn’t conserve. I’m just saying we shouldn’t destroy the American economy (and possibly the worlds) on a science that still has a lot of questions.
